Philip founded Aqua Africa in late 2013 after working in Africa for 3 years as a commercial advisor to one of Ghana’s leading businessmen investing into the agricultural sector. He was instrumental in opening new markets and distribution channels for this agribusiness as well as streamlining the logistical supply chain.
He carried out this role while concurrently undertaking an Open University course in Environmental Science where he had a special interest in sustainable development in Africa and in implementing commercial ventures which create sustainable legacies. His background had previously been in the construction and real estate development sectors where, until the downturn in the property market, he was Managing Director of Urban Life Developments, a London based company that undertook JV projects in conjunction with ING, Investec, Savills and CBRE. Total development project value was more than £100million.
Prior to this he worked as a Pre-Construction Director and Project Manager for organisations including Kajima Corporation where he worked on a global stage in Europe & Asia building micro economies around Kajima’s development projects totalling over $500million. Projects included The Pan Pacific Hotel, Thailand / The Monterey Hotel, Japan / The London Golf Club, UK.
As the founder and CEO of Aqua Africa, Philip is responsible for strategy planning, business development, client and political liaison, brand equity development and communications.
