Using proven UK-designed technology and systems, our first project in Ghana will provide community-based potable water infrastructure across the country. Working in Partnership with The Ministry of Sanitation and Water Resources and The Community Water and Sanitation Agency, this first project will alleviate up to 225,000 Ghanaians in rural and peri-urban areas from the plight of daily water poverty.

The provision of clean sterile drinking water will allow the Government of Ghana to further contribute to 7 of 8 of the sub-goals under the UN Sustainable Development Goal for Water and Sanitation (SDG6), as well as contributing to the Government's progress against SDGs, 1, 3, 5, 8 and 9 and providing Water for All.

This project has been developed by Aqua Africa in partnership with the UK and Ghana Governments and supported by UK Export Finance (UKEF) and HSBC Bank, delivering a ‘Green Loan’ accredited 100% financed solution, contributing to an Africa Beyond Aid.

Water is a basic human need.
